Larry Thomas

Co-Owner/Coach

Coach Larry joined the Commonwealth Crossfit Community in 2015 after an extensive career as a strength and conditioning coach. Most weekends he is exemplifying that by traveling the world for Crossfit HQ as part of the Crossfit Level 1 Seminar Staff.

She found CrossFit in 2013 when she and her husband Walt started attending CrossFit Kent Island in Maryland. Jen has been a member at Commonwealth CrossFit since 2014 and began coaching in 2019. She loves introducing new people to CrossFit and seeing them transformed through fitness. After having her daughter Rian in 2017, Jen became committed to coaching women through their pregnancy and postpartum journeys and continues to develop her expertise in this field. While these days most of her time is spent in the gym, Jen has a PhD in art history and recently completed a book on the Los Angeles-based artist Ed Ruscha.

Mike Larosa

Coach

Mike joined the Commonwealth CrossFit team in early 2013. Mike is an educator by profession, and loves applying that experience to athletics at Commonwealth CrossFit.

Jeremy Harrington coach at Commonwealth CrossFit
05

Jeremy Harrington

Coach

Jeremy joined Commonwealth Crossfit as a member in the spring of 2017, and became a trainer a little over a year later in 2018. Jeremy started doing Crossfit in 2010 as a way to condition for MMA before decided he liked thrusters and burpees more than getting kicked in the head and arm barred. He began as a trainer at Crossfit RVA before opening his own gym in Virginia, Colonial Crossfit. Eventually he moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to his family and joined CWCF. When he’s not in the gym, he spends as much as possible in the woods, with as many dogs as possible.

Donna Peruzzi coach at Commonwealth CrossFit

Donna Peruzzi

Coach

Coach Donna began her CrossFit journey in January 2012 when she joined the 5th on-ramp cohort at Commonwealth. With a background in endurance sports (running and triathlons) she was looking for something to do in the winter that would keep her in shape in the off-season. She quickly realized that CrossFit would not just be her “winter sport”, eventually joining the coaching staff to share her enthusiasm with the growing community. Her other job is teaching middle school science. This may or may not influence her people-oriented coaching style.

Walt Quick coach at Commonwealth CrossFit

Walt Quick

Coach

Walt somewhat accidentally began doing CrossFit in 2013 and he’s never looked back. Whether it is breaking a sweat, having a laugh, or cheering on other athletes and friends, he loves every moment in the gym. This prompted Walt, and his wife Jen, to start their coaching journey in 2019, and this has added a whole other layer of joy and passion to his CrossFit experience. They have a young daughter, Rian, who is already a better athlete than he is. Walt works as a pastor at a local church and has a Masters in Theology.
